EARLY BIRD SPECIAL AT SURF N' TURF

I had stopped at the local IGA supermarket on Fort Salonga Road and noticed a Grand Re-Opening sign for a restaurant called SURF N' TURF.
What caught my eye was a window sign indicating that kids could have a full dinner for only $2.99 on Tuesdays, so I stopped in to take a peek. I was met by one of the owners, George Bubaris, who gave me a quick tour and some flyers that featured an EARLY BIRD SPECIAL (4-6PM Mon-Thurs). The special included a great choice of dinners, complete with salad bar and dessert for only $13.95.

It was 5:00, and I was hungry, and in a money saving mood, so I took a seat, grabbed a plate, and attacked the salad bar. I quickly noticed one of my favorite appetizers was included on the salad bar, "Cold Mussels", marinated in a delicious looking sauce.  I felty a little guilty as I loaded about two dozen on my plate, along with a bunch of salad and other pasta delights. I could have easily made a complete meal from the great choices at the salad bar.

Since I was in the mood for sea food and pasta, I selected "Spaghetti and White Clam Sauce for my main dish, and was pleasantly surprised when the dish arrived, as the pasta was topped with whole steamed clams on the halfshell. The portion was huge, but I was hungry, so I opened my USA today, and spent a liesurely hour enjoying the news of the day while downing all the goodies.    I topped off the dinner with a great tasting Carrot Cake and Vanilla Ice Cream, and fresh brewed java.

I must tell you all that this meal was terrific...the service was great, and the price for all this was a bargain to say the least.

I highly recommend this establishment to anyone who is hungry, likes Fresh Sea Food, Filet Mignon, Baby Back Ribs, Prime Ribs or the many other fine dishes offered by Surf & Turf, including lighter fare.

I'll be coming back with my 5 grandchildren on Tuesdays to take advantage of the $2.99 dinner for kids under 10 (with purchase of adult dinner entree). They should have a great time because a bona-fide "Magician" performs great feats of magic for all the children. A great way for me to have a quiet dinner while the little ones are pre-occupied with the magic feats....though I love magic also.

Will be keeping my eyes open for other great eateries to tell you about soon as I come across them in my travels.
